100-word review: Wouldn't go so far as to say I dislike Wes Anderson's singular style of filmmaking, but I'm definitely no stan. Fantastic Mr. Fox attest to the fact that stop-motion animation is the ideal medium for his congested mise-en-scène though. Equally funny in terms of screenplay (the Baumbach influence is real) as in terms of visuals, the exemplary Dahl adaptation is the definition of 'charming', and can evidently be enjoyed by younger and older audiences alike. This is my favourite Anderson film, and it will take more than another star-studded live-action pastel explosion to change that.
