An indie sci-fi western (by first-time feature writer/directors Caldwell & Earl) that honours both genres equally, and vastly exceeds its budget with smart production design and tasteful, precise use of VFX. Beautifully shot (Earl pulling triple duty as DP), and proof that if you use the right lenses, flare, depth-of-field, and colour-timing, you can make any location look otherworldly.
Pascal is fantastic, and Thatcher inhabits the genre trope I'll never tire of: the resilient female protagonist.
It's a different style, look, and vibe, but it gave me a similar thrill and afterglow as something like Moon.
Side note: so many different, cool space helmets.
