Pure 60s camp! William Castle does not give a shit about your antiquated ideas of "quality" or "acting like people." William Castle is here to entertain, gimmicks and all.
I now quote desperately want to see this with Illusion-O. I want to flicker the ghosts on and off and have fun with it. It's such a bizarre device, and I want to replicate it and pretend like I'm eight.
The mean lawyer is the most despicable villain in cinematic history. What a dick. Don't trust adults who tell you to keep secrets from your family, kids.

The solid ending makes up for some extreeeeeeemely outdated and inaccurate psychobabble.
The lack of any real mystery doesn't do the movie any favors either. There's never really any doubt about which sister is the killer. For a moment I thought they might pull a twist, but that goes away pretty quickly. I kinda wish they hadn't promised any mystery, since the gaslighting is a more interesting premise anyway.
Not sure what the tone is here... I guess…

This is legions better than the first movie, because the first movie is just very very bad. Many of you, myself included, will think it is a twist to learn that one character... was in the first movie. Which, again, I promise I actually saw.

Seen through Brooklyn Horror Film Festival! And at Regal Union Square, my go-to theater from college, which is sadly shutting down soon. This might be the last time I see any movie there... and what a way to end it. (Fittingly, the college Tara goes to is a very clear stand-in for NYU, my alma mater, what with all the scenes at Washington Square.)
