Shang-Chi is a 100% blast. Give me Shaun and Scott Lang in San Fran. They already feel like best friends.

The cast is just perfect, no one feels out of place and you, for real, want to be in Shang-Chi’s friend group. The action feels like a step forward, to me, in terms of fight choreography for Marvel Studios which I was just griping about in my Black Widow review. The takes are a bit longer with a smoother style.…

Really, really dug it. The opening 15 minutes does more to establish the premise of the Suicide Squad and the ruthlessness of its mastermind than the entire first film.

Idris and Cena need to become a regular duo and everything else clicks very well.

This was really fun and a creative take on vampires.

The performances are all very funny and mockumentary style makes it feel really personal. At the risk of sounding pretentious, you can see why Taika Waititi has caught the eyes of influential people. His wit and casual style carries the film.

The bit starts to run a bit thin after a while but luckily things take a wild turn towards the end.

    Crazy Rich Asians

Crazy Rich Asians is a good romance film that feels familiar and new at the same time.

I finally got around to watching this and I quite enjoyed it. I feel like there was something missing, things resolved a little easier than I feel like they should, after all that happened. The cast is great and generally entertaining. Some of the characters were a bit grating and unfortunately, I think they were meant to be the likable ones.

    Worth the watch though!

Some people are born, just to be buried

Probably the lone memorable line in the film is uttered by Sebastion Stan during his fleeting appearance in the movie The Devil All The Time. A film which despite it’s robust cast and ideal production value manages to remain soulless and depressing.

    To paraphrase the line:
Some movies are filmed to be forgotten” and this belongs towards the top of the heap for me in that regard.

    The story entrenches itself in…

Wow, this was a masterpiece in so many ways. An incredible message about finding inspiration and enjoying even the tiniest elements of life. The vocal performances were moving and the animation is breathtaking. I have some minor story questions but overall I can't praise the film enough.
