Ratatouille 2007
What studio is capable of gifting the Earth with a film about a kitchen rat infestation?
Pixar.
To think, this wild concept was saved by Brad Bird and his team in a relative crunch. To have such a motley, layered script with subplots, pounding messages, and more; it is something else. I'd consider Ratatouille to be an exceptionally fine wine that is lifted up by its lively pacing.
The dialogue is complex and specifically written for adults, but still entertaining…

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 2023
Definitely not the worst MCU film as Ant-Man 2, Thor 2 & 4, and others would like to have a word.
But it finds itself in a band of painfully average like the majority of MCU flicks find themselves in from the likes of Black Widow to Iron Man 2, but this one did feel the most like an ad. I think fatigue is what’s making people dislike this movie because it is so painfully similar in quality (or lack thereof)…

TRON: Legacy 2010
I genuinely don’t get the hate. It’s actually really good, and vastly improves upon the original.
The whole production design from Daft Punk’s unreal musical score to the visual design and cinematography makes it hard to not let yourself go and feel immersed in the world. I usually don’t place much emphasis on it either, but the fight choreography was actually really inventive.
Sure, the dialogue could be better and I wish I cared more about Sam, but to me…
