  • The Batman

    The Batman

As a gritty, detective take, it reinvents Batman in what could arguably be the second best to The Dark Knight.

Reaffirms that while Marvel is more of a straight-shooter, the ultra low’s of DC are met with yet higher high’s.

What studio is capable of gifting the Earth with a film about a kitchen rat infestation?

    Pixar.

To think, this wild concept was saved by Brad Bird and his team in a relative crunch. To have such a motley, layered script with subplots, pounding messages, and more; it is something else. I'd consider Ratatouille to be an exceptionally fine wine that is lifted up by its lively pacing.

The dialogue is complex and specifically written for adults, but still entertaining…

    Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Definitely not the worst MCU film as Ant-Man 2, Thor 2 & 4, and others would like to have a word.

But it finds itself in a band of painfully average like the majority of MCU flicks find themselves in from the likes of Black Widow to Iron Man 2, but this one did feel the most like an ad. I think fatigue is what’s making people dislike this movie because it is so painfully similar in quality (or lack thereof)…

  • TRON: Legacy

    TRON: Legacy

I genuinely don’t get the hate. It’s actually really good, and vastly improves upon the original.

The whole production design from Daft Punk’s unreal musical score to the visual design and cinematography makes it hard to not let yourself go and feel immersed in the world. I usually don’t place much emphasis on it either, but the fight choreography was actually really inventive.

Sure, the dialogue could be better and I wish I cared more about Sam, but to me…

    Where do I begin?

    Underrated?

That's a difficult word to latch onto a franchise that prints money, but The Curse of the Black Pearl admittedly qualifies. It's remarkable that this doesn’t deserve the gallows, and please, let me tell you why.

The script is LEGENDARY. No, it seriously is. Its uniqueness and unpredictability aren’t its only high marks. The moments of exposition are handled meticulously well, and the indirect characterization especially is…

There’s a difference between good and bad fan-service. Like Into the Spider-Verse’s effective handling of the web slinger’s lore, what you find here is an astounding homage to musicals of a bygone era.

    Minor spoilers to follow.

The cinematography and production design in this film is so engrossing to look at it takes you to somewhere else. It is literally larger than life. We get glimpses of this ‘larger-than-life” concept sprinkled throughout…
