Guardians of the galaxy volume 2 was released in 2017 and was directed by James Gunn. The movie stars Dave Bautista, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker and many more. 

The movie follows on from the first Guardians movie, where all the Guardians are together after defeating Ronan. However the Guardians continue on their quests and are met with Ego, who claims to be Starlord’s father. However they soon learn some disturbing truths about Ego. 

This movie is a great sequel following on from the first, the opening scene in particular is so iconic and memorable, as the Guardians all work together to defeat the monster, whilst baby groot is dancing around listening too music. This sums up the first Guardians movie perfectly, good chemistry, action, sci-fi and humour all in one perfect scene. There is so many great scenes I like the introduction of a new character Mantis (played by Plom Kementieff), she brings a new skill set to the MCU and her relationship with Drax is perfect, as their low intelligence helps create so much humour. Dave Bautista is excellent in this movie and stands out as one of my favourites from all of his expressions to his quick witty phrases. This movie is similar to the first however seems to have less significance in the wider MCU story compared to the first, however this is such a fun movie, with a lot of comedy, entertainment, action, and excitement. I really enjoyed the scenes with the ravengers and I am glad  that Yondu gets a more prominent role in this movie as his power is really cool with the magic. The scene with Groot and collecting the key is hilarious as well as the ending scene where he has to slip through a small gap and press the button to save the day. I liked the ending and felt the power of the Guardians in their family like bonds helped overcome a stronger God like power, making them become a powerful asset to the wider MCU. 

Overall I’d rate this a 4 and a 1/2 ⭐️ movie, this is another classic MCU with excitement and entertainment. I love the Guardians for bringing something different and a lot of humour. This is only weaker than the first because of the lesser significance compared to the first movie.
