David Cuevas’s review published on Letterboxd:
Both my first theatrical watch and first new watch as an adult! What I love most about First Cow is Kelly Reichardt's direction. The anti-climactic atmosphere is purposefully endearing, and ultimately adds a bit of longevity to the social masculine attitudes of the great frontier. The premise and narrative is ridiculously simple and predictable, though the timid nature adds volumes to the soft spoken characters. A beautiful film overall, and one that makes me excited to see what Reichardt does next.
