It's like Joker. It's a movie for people who hate themselves and everyone around them. A smattering of ideas thrown into a blender for the sheer purpose of its own existence, proudly proclaiming its wit and vigor for a movie ultimately about nothing and only surviving for the possibility that someone will call it impressive. I wish it were better, I wish the film's discussion wasn't contorted into this weird spiritual thing discussing how a dead woman would react to it, because I find that conversation nauseous and performative. Maybe it's the conversation this nauseous and performative movie deserves.
