This is one of those rare occasions where 90% of my LB friends absolutely love or adore a film, when it leaves me cold and a bit amazed by the almost universal love for it.

I see a few merits, most notably the performances by especially Ronan and Metcalf. Other than that I was mostly bored and couldn’t connect to the characters even one bit. Most of them felt like cardboard cutout stereotypes and hardly any more interesting than we…

Just what I needed, a breath of fresh air. What a delight of a movie, with a simple flair you just don’t see a lot anymore these days. Luckily we still have the oldies.

And it’s not even THAT old. It succeeds greatly in making you feel you’re watching something way older. And that’s a good thing in this case, very good actually. It had me checking LB twice while watching if I got it right that it’s made in…

And that concludes the theatrical run of the extended versions. What an absolute pleasure. These just never seem to get old.

Another extended edition on the big screen. The 3,5 hour escapism is so very welcome these days... Really appreciate this limited cinema run! On to next Sunday for the finale!

I had the absolute joy to watch the extended version on the big screen today. The corona virus sucks ass, but I’m very thankful it lead to the opportunity to share this experience with 30 or so fellow (pun not intended) fans.

I understand a lot of the criticism this film gets. Nolan falls into some of the pitfalls he did on Inception as well. Characterization is completely absent, but here it doesn't feel like as big a deal as it did with Inception. That film had an emotional component that should have been fleshed out way more. Here that component is way less necessary as it focusses more on being a straight up action movie, but with the Nolan twist being…

    Still a mess...

A somewhat enjoyable mess, but a mess nonetheless...

In my opinion by far the most overrated MCU movie.

Dutch dub (cause we went with the kids), which takes out part of the fun. Almost certainly a 4 star rating with the original voice cast.

So happy to have had the opportunity to see it on the big screen tonight. One of the most thrilling adventures the (pre-) Ghibli studio has produced. All of the Miyazaki themes are already present here, from the environmental concerns to the strong female roles and from war and aviation to mystical creatures, it’s all there and fleshed out perfectly. Along with the superbly fitting 80’s synth soundtrack make for a masterpiece of epic proportions. Love it to bits.

One of the best MI films of the series, probably even my favorite (haven't seen Fallout yet).

There is just one thing I need to get off my chest: people, please tell me I'm not the only one who, at the first sight of her, thought Rebecca Ferguson MUST be a sibling of Liev Schreiber???

Part of the Infinity War Preparation - 2018 MCU Re-watch

And that’s that. The bonkers Thor Ragnarok closes the line of this year’s MCU re-watch! Love this one to bits and after having seen the terrific Black Panther in the cinema a couple weeks ago, expections for Infinity War have risen to great heights. Now it’s a social media silence for me until next Tuesday when I get to see it on the big screen... ;-)
