Kind of underwhelming through no one's fault but I do think it's because of the visual effects. Everything in the animated was so bright that everything looks lively. It's not so much here, so even if the musical numbers were the same songs, because of the life-like CGI of the sea creatures and the ocean, everything was muted/darker in contrast to the vibe the movie wanted to portray.

With all the controversy and the poor performance of this movie in theaters, I was expecting a mediocre movie. This was actually really fun. The storyline was easy to follow, there were a lot of funny quips, and it allowed Barry Allen to grow as a person. I would have liked to see how this storyline goes on moving forward, but as a singular outing, this was good and entertaining.
