It's Just "Dan" Now’s review published on Letterboxd:
Could say more (a lot more,) but since I went to an advanced screening, I'll keep it blunt, but to the point.
When adding new characters to play around with the old beloved familiar faves, a general rule of thumb is to have em be about as interesting and fun. Not appear to be rejects from that crappy-looking TV adaptation.
The kills were mostly pretty brutal at least.
Whatever. I'll take solace in the fact that if it really wasn't for this coming out I wouldn't have gotten the complete sets of Party of Five and Dawson’s Creek now, and been partying quite hard with 5 (and Friends) whenever I wasn't paying tribute to Betty White, and now Bob Saget. Oh, and that I can just ignore this and enjoy the Wes Craven helmed entries whenever I want.
