    When Harry Met Sally...

iconic although unconvincing. Meg Ryan really put in the work to compensate for Billy Crystal’s deadpan (boring) performance. Great concept.

ferris brûlées day off meets beetlejuice. there is more swearing in this movie than some people have done in their entire lives.

  • They/Them

if you’re thinking about watching this movie you should watch “but i’m a cheerleader” instead. it’s a whole new level of queersploitation. none of the kids end up being relevant or meaningful. even the camp counselor’s transphobia had plot holes and inconsistencies. 1 star for Theo Germaine

the writers forgot to consult either queer people or conversion camp advocates. also i don’t know a single gay person who knows all the lyrics to a P!nk song

That right there is some fine worldbuilding. Kinda feels like an urban Dune with bionic machines but that might just be because I was also reading Dune today

  • American Animals

    American Animals

the most accurate depiction of the type of guy who would do this.

i liked their cute jokes about not being able to remember unimportant details but i think they could’ve been subtler and there could’ve been more.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

so we all knew he was gonna geek. i feel like they didn’t think we were gonna figure that out. it’s the whole movie. his descent from murderer to geek was just a single montage but i think it deserved more than that. the ringmaster at the end was actually one of my favorite characters. idk why.

again with most of these movies i love the character work but the writing and the pacing just falls through for me

i thought it was sweet, okay! k stew and her character are the highlight of the movie, of course. i wish they would’ve done more with her and less with the other cia agents. also the ending was bad. i thought she wanted a simple life with him where they just got stoned and listened to records and made up astronaut ape stories but noooo for some reason they wanna work for the cia again?????
