Dan McCoy’s review published on Letterboxd:
The opening 40 or so minutes of this film had me feeling like I was watching a new classic entry MCU, one that was just about as fun as anything else in the universe, but with a genuinely new vibe.
Unfortunately it was a bit of a long slow slide from there, at least on a story level, as too many scenes sputtered to a halt for another exposition dump, and the ending buried some potentially interesting images and new visual influences in the same grey Marvel CGI sludge.
Still, the cast was consistently charming throughout, and I really enjoyed myself. It was particularly fun to see my old Daily Show buddy Ronny Chieng in a Marvel movie. He's an incredibly sweet dude, and seeing him in one of these things was a total delight.
