Scream ★★★★

Watching all of the Scream movies over the course of this week, I genuinely have grown to love and appreciate each and every one of them. They’re all fun movies simply made to entertain you. They are all movies that examine and celebrate all of the other horror movies and movies around them. They are the most movie movies around. I love movies and I love the Scream movies.

I loved this one. It’s super fun. There are many playful and thrilling sequences scattered throughout the film. There’s some really fun cinematography and staging. I was very happy to hear Nick Cave & The Bad Seed’s Red Right Hand again. The way the film doesn’t let you trust a single character is wonderful. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are fun filmmakers, and it’s very clear that they’re having fun with this. They’ve crafted one entertaining movie, and it is a wonderful celebration of this series and Wes Craven’s works. I wish it were coming out at a better time (stay safe if you’re going out to see this), but I’m glad it’s here.

It’s a genuinely fun time.

I just love movies and I love this movie.
