Daniel Cruse’s review published on Letterboxd:
With this my pseudo-marathon of Wes Anderson’s features is complete as I’ve now seen all of them. I really loved this movie. The voice cast is great, the stop motion artistry is phenomenal, and it’s a really funny movie.
I prefer this one to Isle of Dogs if comparing his two stop motion features but it’s been so long since I’ve seen that movie so it’s hard to have too objective a ranking given that. I love that he’s willing to bring some more mainstream attention to the art form cause Wes Anderson is a pretty well known name and I imagine this film made more people familiar with the medium of stop motion.
His style has grown on me ever more since I watched Bottle Rocket a few days ago. I thoroughly enjoyed all of his movies and I’m really looking forward to seeing The French Dispatch now.
