I didn't expect this one to be so silly. There are many more amazing one-liners though that really elevate the cheese-factor and made it pretty endearing. I also enjoyed some of the Freddy conversions, like when he comes out of the tv and also when he's some sort of weird wormlike creature. There's some shaky claymationish animation at parts but definitely feels right for the time, especially when a skeleton decides to get into a fight. Most of the actors actually do a pretty nice job in this one, but I did find Heather Langenkamp to be pretty unimpressive. I liked her character Nancy coming back, but I thought she was so stiff in this one. I always love a good origin story too, so I didn't really mind the minor subplot for that, even though it felt fairly tacked on. And the subtle ending rather than seeing Freddy pop out of somewhere expected was a refreshing touch. A pretty fun entry that I could see myself revisiting with some frequency.
Never hurts to feature music from Dokken either.
