Yeeaaahhh, this was an instant classic! The creators of this are so inventive! Complete ART! The way the animation transitioned constantly took some getting used to, but it was so so impressive! Sometimes it looked hand drawn, sometimes it looked computer animated, and sometimes it looked like claymation. Plus the Lego part was amazing! This was unique and funny, but it was pretty ridiculous and the last 10 minutes made no sense. A good teen movie with a fun premise, giving lots of people some representation. Also Rachel Sennott is already iconic with only a few notable movies under her belt. They need to keep casting her while she’s still young enough to pull her character type off.
So I saw this at the NYC public premiere, where Gaspar Noe attended and gave a Q&A at the end! He introduced the film by saying, “I hope you cry.”! I didn’t cry, but I did feel deep despair! Halloween Season 2023 Watch #28:
Creep 2: Creepier! This was a good extension of the first and build the creep’s character more, to the point of being even more skin crawling. I didn’t realize when I watch the first, that the victim was played by the director of these and knowing that now makes it kind of meta. It’s on par with the first (same simple quality), but I kind of liked the “victim” in this one better and wonder if she’ll return for the 3rd, which is in the works. Either way, I’m sure it will give the creeps!
