First of all, the humour in here complements the overall tone nicely. It’s always in small doses and never undermines a more serious moment. It feels natural and not “written,” if you know what I mean.

Quick thoughts:
-Aaron Eckhart’s performance goes under the radar
-Heath Ledger’s Joker is the best CBM villain (ofc)
-The camerawork is injected with so much energy
-One of the best opening scenes of all time
-It’s funnier than I remembered
-The interrogation scene is phenomenal
My only slight issue is that Gotham’s aesthetic isn’t as gothic as it was in Batman Begins.

PROS
-The production design is absolutely beautiful
-Margot Robbie is perfect casting for Barbie
-Ryan Gosling is hilarious as Ken
-It was nice to see Michael Cera in a good film again
-The film is filled with great cinema references
-It has important messaging & ISN’T “man-hating”
-Greta Gerwig made bold choices that paid off
-Redefines the Barbie brand for a modern audience
CONS
-The messaging is very heavy handed
-The Will Ferrell subplot feels underdeveloped
-Sometimes…
