Tombstone ★★★

Tombstone's first two acts move well and frankly sing with stylized dialogue and characters that stick. The film is a study of the historical Earp through a filmic Western lens, and given that he is such a popular figure in the genre, I see why he works so well here.

But the last act of this film, outside of Doc Holiday's final scene, is a mess. The montages suck the drama out of the film, leaving me quite disappointed with the final result.

I still recommend this film, as does everyone I know in my life. But I don't recommend it as strongly due to the airless finale.
