Blind bought the Criterion Blu-ray during the last 50% off sale. Such a wonderfully misanthropic film. I love the color and costume design for these adorably miserable characters. Balls to the wall just the way I like it. Nice opening with that terrific title card. The hallway people felt pretty useless other than being there for higher kill count but at least we get the “peephole” sequence out of it, I just don’t care that any of them die. There is absolutely nothing quite like watching films set in Los Angeles, about the Hollywood movie-making factory. I find the golden age of tinsel town endlessly fascinating and this could become one of my go to comfort films when I need to go back into the world of L.A. and what it does to people who go there to chase their dreams.
