The slasher horror genre has yet to recover from this ingenious meta spin on the subject. For some reason, Wes Craven’s Scream is my earliest memory of watching a movie. I’ve seen it countless of times during my adolescence, although this is my first time watching it with a more matured lens. It’s still as remarkable as I remembered, but I didn’t realize how incredibly iconic Matthew Lillard’s performance was. As a matter of fact, everyone in this was incredibly iconic.
