Cole Bradley’s review published on Letterboxd:
Remember how I said I didn't like Magnolia but I respect it? Well I don't really like or respect The Master. It's got its moments (Phillip Seymour Hoffman is great as always and there's some great cinematography) but the films is so damn lazy. Utterly void of ambition or resonance, it's just a mishmash of lazy American dream tropes without much thought or depth put into them. It's a uninspired picture, a portrait of a filmmaker who's running on fumes and doesn't have much left to say.
