Raising this a full star. I dunno why I liked it so much this go around. I think I just realized how perfect the story and direction is. A christian cop searches for a missing girl in a Pagan society. Sounds simple but the themes of religion and justice feel fully fleshed out; the two religions clash perfectly. It’s also really well shot and I love the music used in this. I dunno what else to say, it’s really damn good. On a rewatch may even earn a 5/5.

Good opening scene but the rest of the movie was a pile of shit. Completely over written. Just give us a haunted ship.
I don’t really care about any of this to be honest. Superheroes are, at this point, completely uninteresting in my mind. But what I dislike more than the movie are the reviews I see of this movie. The reasons people seem to dislike this are the same reasons people seem to like other superhero films and that sort of hypocrisy just annoys me.

I, along with many others, have praised Pixar for their ability to make children's movies that don’t feel strictly like children's movies. Adults can usually always take something away from them.

Man I really hate that I didn’t like this more but frankly I’m a bit disappointed.
My main disappointment comes from the use of goofy live action in a bad ass stop motion film. It just wasn’t needed and looked bad compared to the animation.
I also wish the plot had been a little more obvious; I think it had something to do with the creation of the earth and humankind or some shit but I dunno.
