One of the most fun entries in the franchise filled with tons of things they haven’t done before. Never boring and just generally a good time!

Pros: some great set pieces and sequences. High action, I particularly loved the Apartment showdown and Gale’s Chase - 2 of the best scenes in the entire franchise with great performances from Courteney Cox and Devyn Nekoda.

Brilliant character development (and performances) of the Core 4 - Melissa Barrera is totally the standout! 

Different yet really beautiful and somewhat haunting score. 

Samara Weaving. 

Cons: a lot of empty new characters that are just there to be killed off, much like in the third and fourth entries.

Kirby is used as a red herring once again but luckily still gets her moment to shine (a half con).

Kinda just a reboot of Scream 2 with the exact same killer motives.

There is no need for facetuned Billy Loomis anymore pleaseee. No shade to Skeet, it’s just redundant and not necessary in my opinion. 

Truthfully, the only thing that prevents me from giving the movie 4 stars is that there’s absolutely NO stakes whatsoever. Nobody important dies and it just feels like a lot of “gotcha” moments.
