i can definitely see why so many people are getting into this, but it's really not for me. i enjoy how into the insane horror movie logic it is, and the hilarious lines sprinkled throughout keep it from being truly unbearable, but most of what i enjoy about these kinds of movies is way less conceptual and deals way more with the technical majesty, which this has none of. it feels like a movie that i really really wanna like that's trapped behind the most horribly generic jumpscare cues and overly calculated "loose visuals" that just make me sick to my stomach. but still, it's one of the more batshit movies that i've seen this year and i'd warmly recommend it to the right audience, but i don't think i'll ever rewatch it outside of like, a halloween party with a bunch of friends.
