WALL·E 2008
Man, this really is just 2001 if it was Disney.
I never really appreciated this film as much as a kid. I’d seen it a couple times, but I didn’t really like it and would watch Pixar’s other movies. I was a goddamn idiot. This is Pixar’s magnum opus (I think I still prefer Ratatouille though). This film’s message is probably the most real one Pixar has ever done. Rampant consumerism, a dying Earth, waste generation, it’s honestly really scary…

Tokyo Godfathers 2003
It’s been exactly two years since I’ve seen this film, and what better time to rewatch this than Christmas. This film still holds up for me as one of the best animated films of all time. Can say I teared up many times and almost genuinely cried once. It’s absolutely gut wrenching at times, but it’s simultaneously one of the most heart warming films I’ve seen. It balances it out extremely well. I still stand firm saying this is my favorite Kon film. A masterpiece through and through.

Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio 2022
Absolutely fantastic. Great animation along with really well developed characters and themes. Nearly cried a few times. It’s so refreshing to see a new take like this on such an old (and quite frankly overtold) story, and Del Toro knocked it out of the park in my opinion.

2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
Too tired to write about it rn, but damn those last 20 minutes were trippy as hell.

Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm 2022
Always appreciate more Aqua Teen. Kinda short though. Loved the Mooninite interruption bits.

The Passion of Joan of Arc 1928
I am still in shock and awe with this film. With no sound or spoken dialogue, this still manages to be one of the most beautiful and moving films I’ve ever seen. This film is constantly on my mind and continues to be one of my personal favorites. I will always cherish it.

The Lego Movie 2014
Watched with a group of friends. While I’m not as fond of this movie as I was when I was younger, it was still such a blast to rewatch. I forgot how many moments in this film were actually good.
