Post credit scene gave this an extra half star alone.
I can’t believe I was lucky enough to only be a few miles from one of the 30 something locations in the entire country to see this. Of fucking course I loved it. As an avid fan of the anime, I enjoyed this a lot. Newcomers probably wouldn’t enjoy it as much as longtime fans, but there were still elements that could be enjoyed by anyone. As is common with the anime, the artsytle and animation is fucking gorgeous and every scene is pleasant to look at. I don’t think the story was as fleshed out as it could’ve been, but I was still happy with it. There were also a few surprises here (only a surprise if you’ve seen the anime), as well as some fantastic character development, which made the overall story arc even better. Overall, I enjoyed it, I’m glad it wasn’t disappointing, but I feel it could’ve been longer and expanded upon more.
Also, Kimura coming in clutch again. Peak sigma male.
