Justin Purwitsky’s review published on Letterboxd:
Kong: Skull Island, also known as Everything I Want in an Action Movie about a Huge Ape, is pretty much everything I wanted in this movie.
The action is top notch and awesome. Kong sure brings a beat down.
The cinematography is, like, incredible. Some of the shots are just insane.
The effects are tip top. Not a bad looking CGI shot on display (I'm directing that at you Peter Jackson and your running through dinosaur legs idea).
The acting is everything you want it to be. Over the top, over exaggerated and perfect for this kind of film. I love it when Sam Jackson plays a bad guy.
This is pretty much an A-List B-Movie that delivers it all (minus nudity and copious gore).
I love the Jurassic Park reference. The what? The Jurassic Park reference; when Sam Jackson says 'Hold onto your butts'.
Like Fantastic Beasts I might of enjoyed this more than I should of due to the fact that I saw it in 4DX. I don't think that's the case but hey, I have yet to not love something in 4DX and I have yet to see anything a second time in non 4DX.
