Tanner Richard Craft’s review published on Letterboxd:
The Turtle Power is strong with this one. I don't know why it took almost 40 years to make a Ninja Turtles movie that focuses on the fact that they're teenagers, but I'm so glad they finally did. The emotional core of the story is really well done, framing them as a group of outsiders that just want acceptance, cause what does a teenager want more than to just feel normal? The entire voice cast does a stellar job, but the real standout here is the animation. It's gorgeously well animated, and in a year where Spider-Verse didn't exist this would easily be the best looking animated movie so far. Every scene is a feast for the eyes and I love how it looks like the doodles in the margins of a teenager's notebook come to life. The sound design and score compliment the animation incredibly well. Overall I think this is by far the best Ninja Turtles movie and it feels like the potential of them finally realized. I can't recommend it enough. Glad I saw it on the big screen AND in 3D!
