watched through NYFF's Virtual Cinema
This feels very different from most of McQueen's other films, while there is a closeness to the subject that's common among his work there is such a different mood to it. It's an intimate, loving, and frenetic house party that doesn't try to involve itself with major story threads or conflict and instead opts for a purely emotional experience. There were many moments where the idea of watching a film seemed to fold over and I was fully immersed in the sights and sounds. Its the definition of short and sweet.
