Part of why Scream was so successful is that you instantly knew and were drawn to each individual character. Tatum, Stu, Billy, even Casey had personalities that you immediately recognized and understood. Sick - while clever in parts - had none of that. And with such a small cast, watching these three kids get stalked and beat up was just kind of boring.
Definitely cheesy and cringey a lot of the time, but not as bad as other straight-to-streaming slashers have been. That's the magic of Kevin Williamson dialogue.
