What a great way to tell such an important and interesting story! a lot more impactful than just a normal documentary. I loved this film.
The animation was used differently to add impact to the storytelling. His older memories of childhood are a lot more simple and no faces. And they use real footage to help ground us and teach when we need it.

The tale of Connell and Marianne is a long complicated story in which you see both characters learn and grow in both their personal lives and with their relationship. And I think that's why this is such a beautiful and raw show.
