  • Soul

As per usual, Pixar Studios and director Pete Docter don't disappoint in the slightest as Soul is pretty much another top-tier, original Pixar flick & undoubtedly a masterful animated feature all around.

It's not a downright masterpiece by any means on the likes of Toy Story, The Incredibles, etc. (though it's certainly close), however, I can surely say Soul is absolutely compelling in many regards, and the film's delightful storyline hits just about all the right notes without question.

    The animation…

  • Onward

While Onward is undoubtedly on the lower side of films to come out from Pixar Studios, I was still pleasantly surprised in how well executed this whole film is in many fundamental aspects that Pixar put to considerable use once more in their first original motion picture in three years.

The specific story itself involves two elf brothers from this more magical-like turned modern world, voiced by none other than Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, as they both set out…

  • Dredd

Slightly less fun than I expected it to be (takes itself a bit too seriously at times), but Dredd is still a relatively well-crafted and mostly admirable actioner in its own right.

The film thankfully wastes no time in getting down to business when it came to the general plot which is effortlessly handled in an incredibly simple manner in this, and it favorably doesn't overstay its welcome either as well.

Action is no doubt satisfactory for the most part,…

  • Aladdin

Unquestionably up there with the best (though not the fully greatest) from the Disney Renaissance era, Aladdin is yet another thoroughly charming animated feature that still retains the same amount of genuinely touching and likable magic since it was first released.

The overall story in this, though traditional Disney romance fare, fortunately is aided by the delightful, memorable characters that one can easily root for, and the animation is of course truly vibrant on various counts, and are definitely among…

    The Truman Show

No doubt ahead of its time, The Truman Show is a masterful dramedy that holds up strongly now more than ever, and that's all thanks to how well the film's deceptively clever subject matter is handled here as it undeniably is prescient in more ways than one.

It's carefully dealt with in a truly original and brilliant way that it's hard not to absolutely admire this rather compelling film as a whole. The nifty inclusion of timely matters obviously hit…

  • Slither

By no means does it get anywhere near the indisputable classics and often brilliant B-horror movies of the past century, but Slither does still do its own delightful thing and entertains plenty for a horror-comedy throwback made in the 2000s.

The film's strength lies in the usually lively irreverent humor and entirely admirable practical effects, which thankfully more than hold up today as James Gunn and crew typically made them favorable in those particular departments.

    Not Gunn's best work ever…
