First act was a bit clunky, hence why I'm giving it a 4.5 instead of a 5, but the last act... holy shit.
Let me talk about Super. Super is quiet but it's unapologetically brutal. However towards the end Frank has Jacques cornered and gives a speech. His delivery is furious but its hauntingly beautiful. Its a scene that wowed me.
This movie is that scene times 10.
As soon as the evil plan is revealed this had me staring in awe. I give movies points for emotional moments, and Gunn knows how to excel at them. Each member of the team has depth and a purpose, and are all great leads. Even as I knew who died I still felt tears close. Chris Pratt gives an amazing performance in his moments of grief and anger, and all of the cast sell their roles perfectly. While not every joke landed there were some really good ones and there's a nice sense of banter between the team. I care for each character and I love how it goes in an almost horror direction when the villain is revealed.
Overall this is a fantastic sequel that I highly recommend.
