It's been a while since I have seen something that has hit me this deep. A lot of The End Of Evangelion is the deepest realms of psychological terror. It's internal screaming until your ears go deaf. I should probably save myself and wait to jot down my thoughts after I watch The End Of Evangelion, either today or tomorrow, but I am inspired and am in absolute awe over what Hideaki Anno created here. Telluride Film Festival
Definitely the most walkouts I have witnessed in a theater. So many people are going to hate this movie. So many people. Is it pretentious and self indulgent? Absolutely to the bone. One of the most so I have ever seen. Is it perfect? No. It's very messy. The themes don't completely come together. It meanders like crazy and drags til the end. They'll hate it for socio-political reasons too.
