Conlankwm’s review published on Letterboxd:
Scream returns to its roots.
This film showed a lot of the promise that Scream (1996) had, just with a modern coat of paint.
Unfortunately the rust seems to come out as the cast remains largely forgettable and don’t have the same chemistry as the original.
Still, the same old meta humour is mostly there, and a few nods to the preceding films make it at least enjoyable for fans of the series.
While I do think this is the 2nd best Scream film, it is not good enough to be better than Scream 4, so in the end they reach a tie.
