children in the hands of a mad god, poison mixed with diamonds, fortune and glory; spielberg's masterpiece, because it's an inverted perversion of his corporate-freudian sensibility. raiders was a monotheistic exhalation of spirit over flesh, but temple is a rollercoaster tour of left-hand path occultism, hollywood's twisted kali-yuga vortex, a film obsessed with sex and death, cyclical history victorious over linear space-time, the subterranean doom-depths of the human unconsciousness.
