    As I was watching this I couldn't help but think about how these comedies from the 40s and 50s are just so dated, that nearly all the jokes fall flat (the horse licking Henry Fonda's head was funny though).     Not quite as good as "Husbands" or "A Woman Under the Influence", probably because the pacing is a bit worse.

    The final performance of their play seems like it absolutely should not work, but for some reason I couldn't help but think that whole thing was pretty much peak cinema. If someone hated that sequence, I wouldn't even be able to explain why they are wrong. That kind of bothers me.

    It might work in the general sense that this is his most spontaneous film of the 4 that I have seen now.
