Letterboxd — Your life in film

Huppert saves the film.

Watched at the Reina Sofia Museum while visiting Madrid.

To me, this is a comfort film.

perfectly captures the Rohmer feel in a modern setting. absolutely loved it.

Hot, dirty and sweaty but with no gimlets.

elaine is a person with a future, mrs. robinson is a title. it's one of the most tragic things about her to me, that she doesn't even get a name that isn't her husband's. no matter how much we talk about her and humanize her we'll never ever be able to call her by her name.

This would make a great double feature with Schrader’s The Comfort Of Strangers

Watching High Noon as my first western was a mistake... I don't think any other film of this genre that can surpass it...
