The day was January 15th, you should remember that because it was yesterday. I heard a door slam somewhere else in the building and the heavy smell of pine wafted about from the downstairs neighbors wreath. That’s when it hit me. Despite not leaving my apartment for 72 hours this weekend there are, in fact, other people in living in the world. And, although you could’ve fooled me, perhaps doing nothing more than watching old movies is no way for a man to live his life.
Just kidding, I’m gonna keep doin nothing.
Double Indemnity is such an icon of its genre. It’s so dramatic and salacious and erotic in a way that draws me in so aggressively.
It’s a marvel that Wilder can make the insurance business seem so menacing.
