For something less controversial, but also from a franchise which has become complicated over the years, I also returned to The Blair Witch Project after at least a decade. My opinion here is also as complicated, which you can also read of here:
Another long review, but continuing with this notorious anime franchise, I get to the sequel/spin-off narrative which, as mentioned in the review below, was once one of the worst things I had seen. Ah, has it really been four years since the last documentary?
