🔜The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog🔜

A tormented father witnesses his young son die when caught in a gang’s crossfire on Christmas Eve. While recovering from a wound that costs him his voice, he makes vengeance his life’s mission and embarks on a punishing training regimen in order to avenge his son’s death.

They should do a violent bloody Christmas film every year. My girlfriend turned to me half way through this and said “this…

Twenty years after their notorious tabloid romance gripped the nation, a married couple buckles under the pressure when an actress arrives to do research for a film about their past.

Gotta give credit to the Riverdale boy Charles Melton as I think he gave the best performance here. His body language and delivery of this dialogue really encapsulated of someone with stolen childhood innocence. Following Natalie Portman’s fantastic performance as Elizabeth Berry as she uncovers this relationship is very exciting and interesting. Her letter monologue is brilliant. Todd Haynes kills it with this film.

An epic mosaic of many interrelated characters in search of happiness, forgiveness, and meaning in the San Fernando Valley.

I continue to be impressed by Paul Thomas Anderson’s filmmaking ability. Film after film is a banger that at his worst is great or at his best, one of the best films ever. This one falls closer to one of the best ever. Quite literally every aspect is fantastic. All the different character…

After running out of money while backpacking in a tiny, male-dominated town in the Australian outback, two friends resort to a working holiday at the Royal Hotel. When the locals behavior starts crossing the line, the girls find themselves trapped in an unnerving situation that grows rapidly out of their control.

Kitty Green loves to be unsettling as that’s the best way to describe this film here. Following our two…

After a fateful near-miss, an assassin battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal.

This is probably the most Fincher film that Fincher has ever done. I feel like this is Fincher if he was a sociopathic contract killer. Everything about this film is meticulous from the character itself to the filmmaking. Which obviously results in a damn good film. David Fincher’s direction has never been less than good and…

When oil is discovered in 1920s Oklahoma under Osage Nation land, the Osage people are murdered one by one—until the FBI steps in to unravel the mystery.

Scorsese does it again, crafting a beautiful and compelling film based on horrific true events that needed to be told. Robert De Niro plays the major asshole here as William Hale. Definitely one of his most hated roles he’s done. Leonardo DiCaprio plays…
