Clobby Clobsters’s review published on Letterboxd:
For the end of 2021, I watched this film with my younger brother.
With some rushed storylines and missed opportunities, "Hilda and the Mountain King" tells a straightforward tale. There are trolls, magic, and people who boast violent intentions. Yet at its heart, the story is about motherhood: how a parent's love between their offspring will never fade. Although the execution is rough, the film promotes peace, empathy and states that children can save us all from catastrophe. No, the solution isn't perfect. But at least Hilda put humanity on the right path.
So long, Hilda, your stories were kind and soulful. I'm glad you could teach us how to understand one another.
Edit: It turns out, Season 3 is on the way!
