I wish they would do more, I loved this show
Respect the hussle, respect the vision and time and craft. But what the FUCK was that ending meant to be 😅
Chazelle’s Boogie Nights, I feel like I finally understand how my friends felt after I dragged them to La La Land and they nearly walked out after the planetarium scene calling it a bunch of nonsense.
Tobey Macguire terrifying.
Justin Hurwitz genius. (The Someone in the Crowd nod, my heart.)
There is a scene in this film where a bunch of adults band together to kick the shit out of an elderly woman. And it’s meant to be hysterical.
I really disliked a lot of this film. The humour seemed cruel and nasty and whilst it is filmed beautifully and has lots of good moments during the much more somber second half of the film, they had already lost me.
I know many will say this is wonderful, but it just did not work at all for me.
Some of the worst acting I have ever seen.
I had to force myself to sit through this one, but it was utterly terrible. It felt amateur-ish, I've never seen Laura Dern act so badly and Rossellini was the worst thing I've ever seen on screen.
The fact that this got an oscar nom horrifies me.
Really open to people sending me reviews and think pieces on why this is so well respected, even now, as I couldn't believe what I was watching.
