Second short I have made professionally! This one has multiple scenes and real actors in it! Ones that have been on television!

So grateful for the opportunity to make art but especially with talented and hard-working people that I have the privilege of calling my friends. I learned so much from this experience and I can't wait to take it all into the next one.

    Some notes:

    - Most of my collaborators were friends from Drama School. Eddy has been…

Reading some of the newer reviews from people in Film Club is breaking my heart a bit, so I wanted to give some deeper thoughts and explain why I chose this film to share and why it means so much to me.

I've spoken before on here about how and why Joel is a huge inspiration to me. I think it's a very common feeling for aspiring artists to feel stuck when they're just starting out and attempting to break…

Subtle and strange. A quiet movie about really loud themes. I spent most of the runtime feeling like I was unable to fully grasp it, but there are small moments sprinkled throughout that are bluntly funny and give it enough of a personality I feel like I can recommend this without much hesitation.

Not sure if I liked it enough to ever watch it again but there’s something here for sure and if the tagline intrigues you don’t let me stop you from checking it out! Really nice b&w photography.

A movie that uses camp aesthetic to paint a thin veneer over a horrifying story about truly vile and disgusting monsters. Moore and Portman play two of the most detestable villains in recent cinema's memory. Charles Melton also gives a standout performance (he starts off slow but everything from the scene on the roof onwards is electrifying). There are scenes here that will churn your stomach.

Haynes is a tremendous artist and his choices, both visual and narrative, prevent this…

I've been going to bed between 930 and 10 pm lately, really just embracing becoming an elderly curmudgeon (about to turn 29), so the fact that I started this film at 11 pm and was kept engaged throughout, compelled to force myself to stay awake until the final frame, speaks volumes to its quality.

Haven't seen any previous Trier films so I can't speak to whether or not this is typical of him or if he's leveled up here, but…

    Lol holy shit get wrecked.

Normally not one to celebrate public bashing but Karsten taking down his film after getting like, a little negative criticism is sooooo telling and really hypocritical. Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it.

Honestly my dream is that every other popular reviewer on here makes a short film that people hate as much as this so we can finally stop celebrating the lazy, cheap, joke review style that is so prevalent on here.
