HAL’s review published on Letterboxd:
This film is utterly fascinating to me. It’s beloved by cinephiles and normies alike. It’s got a criterion release while simultaneously streaming on Disney Plus. It’s both a faithful adaptation of the original Roald Dahl book and a perfect encapsulation of Wes Anderson’s unique style. It’s animation is the very definition of autumn and Thanksgiving, it’s voice cast is pitch perfect, it is truly a cussing masterpiece of a film and unequivocally my favorite Wes Anderson movie. This is my fifth watch in the last seven Fox years and I plan on watching it even more in the future.
