Ryan’s review published on Letterboxd:
You see Nicolas Cage on the cover of a film and you don't expect a tender character piece. Even when he was getting nominated for Oscars, I wouldn't have expected that. And yet, that's exactly what Pig is.
Michael Sarnoski deftly creates a beautiful two-hander with Cage and Alex Wolff. It's quiet. It's intense. It resonates.
Cage puts in his best work in many, many, many years. Alex Wolff matches him every step of the way. The supporting cast is all splendid. Sarnoski knows how to pull a performance out of an actor. I'd highlight David Knell for his single scene. Such a heart-wrenching scene.
