Like every Kieslowski work I've seen, this is just incredible. The first, fifth, and sixth episodes in particular were my favorites. The episodes do vary in quality quite a bit and there were a couple I wasn't a big fan of, but the great ones outweigh the weaker ones. Overall, a thematically rich work of art that I'll likely appreciate even more over time.

Completely worth the long wait and a huge improvement over the first film. Deserves to be seen on the biggest screen you can find, the visual effects are fucking incredible.

Decided to rewatch this since I'm seeing the sequel soon and I hadn't seen this in about a decade. It's fine, but easily the weakest Cameron film. Hoping the sequel will be better.

BTW this is my final film of the year and it will be 2023 in a few minutes where I live, so Happy New Year!!!!

A little bit of the runtime could have been shortened, but this is one of the most enjoyable films I've seen in theaters in a while. My expectations weren't very high due to some of the more mixed reviews it was receiving, and due to it being by Damien Chazelle, a director whose work I find to be pretty overrated personally. I can see why some people wouldn't like this film. It's very wild and over the top at times…

Good film, but is this really one of the best films of the year? Personally, I don't think so, but it was nice.

I knew this film seemed like it would be something I would like a lot, but I was not expecting myself to like it THIS much. Incredibly atmospheric and very interesting thematically. I'll be thinking about this one for quite a while!

The Tale of the Princess Kaguya

Can't believe I'd been putting this off for so long. This is definitely my favorite Isao Takahata film and one of my favorite Ghibli films in general. It's very beautiful and the ending made me feel very emotional. I didn't always feel completely engaged during the middle, but the last 20 minutes and some other really incredible scenes in the film were enough to make up for the less interesting parts. While I prefer Hayao Miyazaki overall when it comes to Ghibli filmmakers, Takahata was also very talented and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya especially demonstrates his talent well.

Film #2 of my Halloween night double feature. I thought this was a pretty good film with incredible looking stop motion animation and a great way to end Halloween and October.

    Trick 'r Treat

Happy Halloween!!! The first film of my double feature tonight, I thought Trick 'r Treat wasn't really going to be something I would like that much, but I ended up enjoying it way more than I expected. It's an entertaining anthology film that is perfect to watch on Halloween.

Doing a back to back double feature of this and Eraserhead was such a great experience!
