If Tony Scott Films are a drug, Enemy of the State is heroin. Never-mind Will Smith's break-out performance that catapulted him from TV star to Movie Star. Never-mind Gene Hackman steps in as a relief pitcher & pitches 100 MPH in every scene he holds. And never-mind the fantastic, emotional performances from Lisa Bonet & Regina King. This is Tony Scott's best film. This is Tony Scott's genius on full display. Not all Tony Scott films work, but when Scott is telling a story that's tumbling, storming, raging to a finish line (think Pelham 1,2,3 or Unstoppable), Scott is at his absolute finest. RIP to a Legend.
