Matt’s review published on Letterboxd:
In preparation of Godzilla vs Kong it was time to watch a film I should have seen in theaters when it released. The CGI of the monsters was excellent and the greatest strength of this film. Action was pretty solid, yet the problem is the lack of focus on the film.
Sam Jackson's descent into pure madness from anger to kill Kong would have worked out great but there was too much going on with no real scope on the main storyline. The characters were also pretty lifeless. Even Goodman's character was despite narrowly escaping death in his first encounter with Kong. They didn't seem to do much with his character regarding that fact. As expected, this film is just one that's worth seeing for the action and monster fights.
